The following remarks can hardly be included into any serious body of historical hypotheses concerning the development of philosophy in general, and 20th century's philosophy in particular. They are rather loose, introductory conjectures attempting somehow to conceptualize this subject so difficult for any conceptualization. Their aim is to argue that logical empiricism in the Vienna Circle and at the Lvov-Warsaw School occupies an exceptional position in the philosophy of our century, and perhaps in the whole tradition of the European philosophy.
