Semiotics in Greece

Karin Boklund-LagopoulouA.-Ph. Lagopoulos

pp. 253-278

Abstract

The introduction of semiotics in Greece is a relatively recent phenomenon. To understand the reception and development of semiotics in Greece, it is helpful to present briefly the nature of intellectual life in modern Greece (that is, since the liberation from the Ottoman empire), and especially the intellectual climate after the fall of the dictatorship in 1974.
