Abstract

This critical commentary on Heidegger's "The Origin of theWork of Art" is part of a continuing attempt to address some questions raised by Hegel's pronouncement that "art is, and remains for us, on the side of its highest destiny, a thing of the past,"1 questions that, as Heidegger recognized, concern much more than just the future of art.
