Spinal cord stimulation in postamputation pain

J. U. Krainick

pp. 163-166

Abstract

The implantation of electrode systems over the dorsal column for relief of chronic intractable pain has now been practiced for more than 10 years [1–14]. As the stimulation involves probably more than the dorsal columns only, the term "dorsal column stimulation" (DCS) for this non-destructive method should be replaced by 'spinal cord stimulation" (SCS).
