Mach's relativism versus apriorism and the mechanistic world view

Keiichi Noe

pp. 229-241

Abstract

In our view the laws of nature are a product of our mental need to find our way about nature, so that we do not stand estranged and baffled in front of natural processes. This manifests itself clearly in the motive behind these laws, which always correspond to this need as well as to the current state of culture.2
